Blue Devotion Rocks Buckleys
As seen on the cover picture Norwegian Blues band “Blue Devotion” rocked the night at a popular blues club Buckleys Roots & Blues Joint in Oslo. The young and talented ensemble of six musicians with a wide range of artistic music backgrounds describe Blue Devotion as “a Norweigan blues rock band with high energy”. Given their energetic performance at Buckleys, they lived up to their word!
Hans Kristian Nordin, band leader, lead guitarist and vocals, seems blessed with an incredible talent as a blues guitarist. Hans Kristian from a young age already gained recognition for his talents by New York blues legends Stefan Grossman and Joe Bonamassa. By all measures of impressions from the blues community and legends alike, Oslo’s own ‘Blues Riff’n Kid’ is on a great track to success!
Hans Kristian is joined by five other musicians.
Rolf Olav Riddervold rocked those drums like the “Animal” in true blues rock tradition. Rolf
Olav comes from a family of musicians and his father even won the
Spellemann Award. The other four musicians are classmates of Hans
Kristian at Foss High School for Performing Arts in Oslo.
Aida Frantzén, young and energetic vocalist who has, along with Hans Kristian, also attended the Summer Program at world renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston. Aida did her school proud by giving the audience a taste of wonderful talent with her fantastic voice.
Lars Olav Brynildsen, the
bands bass player, complimented the bands rythm section like a pro.
From the looks of his performance, he had lots of duo guitar fun with
lead guitarist Hans Kristian.
Magnus Engen, jammed away on his rhythm guitar giving the band that extra blues kick to make Blue Devotion complete.
Tobias Øzeke a classically trained pianist, made an effortless switch to blues and added that extra blues pizazz you get from great keyboard players.
